Title:

Navy and military views, auto racing at Bonneville, agriculture near Salinas, and others

Creator/Contributor:

Associated Press

Abstract:

Views relating to the navy and the military include ships, sailors, early construction at Fort Ord, the ship Star of England, signs from a ship in Japanese and English, etc. Views of auto racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats show cars, equipment, racers (including Al Jenkins), and races. Views relating to agriculture in the Salinas area show workers harvesting in the fields, and a convey of trucks loaded with produce protected by armed guards (possibly related to the Longshoremen's Strike?). Other views show the artist Armand van Oleman, a plane crash near Pt. Reyes, and State Line, Nevada.
